The Graduation Preparatory Academy partners with multiple businesses and organizations to offer students internships and certification opportunities that they can complete alongside their normal coursework. These opportunies give students a competitive advantage for future employment after graduation.

Patient Care Technician

Partnering with the Central Texas Allied Health Institute (CTAHI), Goodwill's WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act) Youth program, and Workforce Solutions Capital Area, the Graduation Preparatory Academy helps interested students obtain their Patient Care Technician (PCT) certification. Participating students learn to provide basic care services for patients, and upon completion of the program, students have the opportunity to take the National PCT/PCA Certification Exam. 

Memory Care Certification

In addition to obtaining their PCT certification, students are given the opportunity to procure a separate, specialized certification marking their ability to care for patients with dementia and Alzheimer's disease. As a part of this partnership with The Gathering and The Watermark, students make monthly visits to a local Memory Care program to receive hands-on training.
