Our campus partners involve local businesses and organizations that provide our students with internship and certification opportunities they can complete alongside their standard coursework. These opportunities give students a competitive advantage for future employment after graduation. 

Patient Care Technician

Partnering with the Central Texas Allied Health Institute (CTAHI), Goodwill's WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act) Youth program, and Workforce Solutions Capital Area, the Graduation Preparatory Academy helps interested students obtain their Patient Care Technician (PCT) certification. Participating students learn to provide essential care services for patients, and upon completion of the program, students can take the National PCT/PCA Certification Exam. 

Memory Care Certification

In addition to obtaining their PCT certification, students can procure a separate, specialized certification marking their ability to care for patients with dementia and Alzheimer's. As part of this partnership with The Gathering and The Watermark, students visit a local Memory Care program monthly to receive hands-on training.
